Artist Statement of Christine Palamidessi

My work is narrative and involves telling stories about humanity, divinity, violence and time. For the past decade I’ve been exploring the torso. It’s our center; where the heart resides and where we hold our lovers and children close to comfort them. It’s also where warriors attach bombs and shields. History and geography, mythology and graphic patterns on the inside and outside of earthly surfaces, people and planets inspire my work. My preferred medium is paper, and I often fold and mold the paper into human shapes and then apply hardening agents. Sometimes I paint the shapes; other times allow the shapes to resemble stone and artifacts. Always I strive to embrace a particular essence of spiritual steadiness.

Customer comment on 'Girl with Goose (Child herding Goose sculptures statue)' by Lucy Poett
I must say I am thrilled with my `Goose Girl` by Lucy Poett. It looks charming in my garden and is greatly admired.

I will indeed have a look on your web page and see if I can be tempted again ! !

Kind Regards

Joan Gilbert, Fyfe, Scotland.
